Privacy Policy.

The short version

Offbeat collects no analytics and no personal data. Your music, your library metadata and your listening history stay on your device and on your own Plex Media Server. We can't see any of it.

The Offbeat app

• No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no third-party trackers of any kind.
• Your data stays yours. Downloaded music files and library metadata are stored only on your device. They sync only between your device and your own Plex Media Server.
• Authentication. Sign-in uses Plex's official OAuth flow. Your Plex credentials are never seen by Offbeat; the resulting access token is stored in the iOS Keychain and sent only to Plex services and your own server.
• Play counts. If you play music offline, the app reports those plays to your own Plex server when you reconnect — nowhere else.
• Network connections. The app talks to exactly two parties: plex.tv (for sign-in and server discovery) and your own Plex Media Server (for music, artwork and metadata).

This website

• No cookies, no analytics. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
• Email signup. If you join the mailing list, your email address is stored by Buttondown, the newsletter service we use, under Buttondown's privacy policy. We use it only to send Offbeat news, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
